HR Specialist – Manufacturing Operations

​Role Overview

​Ferrum Tubes is seeking an experienced, hands-on HR professional to support its seamless steel pipe manufacturing operations in Tilda, Raipur, India. The role focuses on shop-floor recruitment, employee grievance management, and building a disciplined and engaged workplace culture in a manufacturing environment.

 Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Manpower Planning

  • End-to-End Hiring: Manage recruitment for operators, maintenance staff, supervisors, and engineers.
  • Planning: Coordinate with department heads for manpower planning.
  • Sourcing: Build local hiring channels through ITIs, diploma colleges, contractors, and referrals.
  • Onboarding: Handle documentation and induction processes.

2. Employee Relations & Grievance Management

  • Point of Contact: Act as the first point of contact for employee complaints.
  • Issue Resolution: Handle grievances related to wages, shifts, overtime, leave, and discipline.
  • Conflict Management: Conduct fair investigations and resolve shop-floor conflicts to build trust.

3. Culture Building & Engagement

  • Initiatives: Drive safety, discipline, and employee engagement programs.
  • Recognition: Implement communication programs and recognition schemes.
  • Values: Promote company values and a positive workplace culture.

4. HR Operations & Compliance

  • Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws and statutory requirements.
  • Administration: Manage attendance, shifts, and leave records.
  • Audits: Coordinate with payroll and handle statutory audits.

5. Training & Development

  • Skill Gaps: Identify training needs across the plant.
  • Programs: Coordinate safety and behavioral training sessions.
  • Performance: Support probation reviews and ongoing onboarding feedback.

​Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Human Resources.
  • Experience: 5 years of HR experience with significant steel industry exposure.
  • Industry: Experience in seamless steel tubes or allied industry is preferred.

​Key Skills & Attributes

  • ​Strong shop-floor HR management experience.
  • ​Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • ​In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws.
  • Language: Fluent in Hindi and English.
